The Graduate School Scholarship Program (GSSP) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is providing one doctoral research scholarship and a doctorate in the Languages and Cultures of the Silk Road.

Eligibility

  • The candidates applying for DAAD Funded Doctoral Fellowship in the “Languages and Cultures of the Silk Road” Program, 2018 should be international applicants and not German citizens.
  • The applicants should not have resided in Germany for more than 12 months as of the application deadline.
  • The candidates’ master’s degree’s final exam should have taken place within 6 years from the current year.

Documents required

  • The candidates applying for DAAD Funded Doctoral Fellowship in the “Languages and Cultures of the Silk Road” Program, 2018 should submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and two recommendation letters.
  • The applicants should also submit copies of certificates of degrees, advanced qualifications, and annual examinations.
  • The candidates should submit a research proposal of 5 pages, a work plan, and a writing sample of 15-20 pages.

Value of the scholarship

  • The recipients of DAAD Funded Doctoral Fellowship in the “Languages and Cultures of the Silk Road” Program, 2018 get a stipend of 1.000 Euros per month, a travel allowance, accident, health, and liability insurance policy and study and research allowances.
  • The recipients also get rent and family allowances wherever applicable.
