You will be responsible for performing world class research into advanced semiconductor nanocrystal materials. You will take a lead in the development and fundamental study of these materials. You will also play a role in the design, fabrication and measurement of new optoelectronic devices and incorporating them. You will set-up and use a wide range of electrical and optical characterisation techniques and, where necessary, write software to accomplish this. You will collaborate and interact with other members of the project team and wider research group in all aspects of your work. You will assist postgraduate students in related studies and maintain and service research equipment as required. You will also interact with academic and industrial collaborators, take a lead on regular contact with these organisations, providing feedback and disseminating results on a day to day basis. You will also assist in the preparation of scientific publications and technical reports in order to disseminate the outcomes to the academic and industrial community. This will include presentation at conferences and assisting other members of the team to do the same. You will also assist postgraduate student and undergraduate project students in connection with their research in related areas.

To apply you should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Physics or Electronic Engineering. Experience in performing ultrafast optical spectroscopy of semiconductor based nanocrystal materials is essential. In particular experience of performing exciton dynamic studies in colloidal nanocrystal systems is desired. The post is available for a period of 10 months.
