Lecturer Position: World History (East Asia), University of Manchester, UK: Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in East Asian History at the University of Manchester. Candidates with interests in any area of East Asian history, including South East Asia, are encouraged to apply. Applications from candidates with research interests that map onto one or more of History’s existing research groups (Capital at Manchester; Cultural History of War; Embodied Emotions; Histories of Humanitarianism; Political Cultures) are particularly welcome although other research areas will be considered. You must be able to team-teach our Level One module (Modern China) and our Level Two module (Late Imperial China). At Level Three, you should devise and teach a specialist course based on your area of research expertise.

You will have an outstanding record of academic publication in East Asian History, appropriate to your career stage, compatible with inclusion in our submission to REF 2021. You will contribute to existing undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These team-taught courses are subject to review and revision at regular intervals in order to incorporate the interests of new staff.

Interviews will include a research presentation and an evaluated teaching demonstration.
