Research and teaching conducted at the Department of Physics span from basic science topics in condensed matter physics, biophysics, mathematical physics, atomic, nuclear, particle and astroparticle physics to applied areas such as medical imaging, nuclear reactor physics, nuclear reactor technology and nuclear power safety.

Job description

We are looking for two candidates to supervise M.Sc. thesis students, the supervision may be performed remotely via means such as Skype and include up to two meetings per semester with the students at KTH main campus. The two positions concerns:

The analysis of the attitude control performance of the MIST student satellite. Thermal analysis and control of the temperature of the onboard systems of the MIST student satellite


The candidates must have at least a M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent and be deeply familiar – as a former student or in a professional capacity with:

Modeling of the attitude control performance of a satellite. Experience in using MATLAB-based software toolboxes is an additional qualification. Modeling of the thermal characteristics of a satellite. Experience in using the software tool Thermica (from Airbus Defense & Space) is an additional qualification.
