£35550 to £47722 per annum (pro-rata if offered a job share) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The University of Nottingham has both teaching and research interests in the microbial aspects of the food and drink industry – from farm to fork and beyond.

Teaching into both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes the role holder will contribute to the delivery of cutting edge teaching in the area of food safety and spoilage, and food and drink fermentation. Their research portfolio will align to the strengths of the current foci within the group on all aspects of microbiology along the food chain, which includes animal disease, food-borne disease, zoonoses, and the developing area of the gut microbiota.

We are seeking applications from people with a PhD in microbiology or related subject, with proven ability to produce high quality research in microbiology and to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in relevant subjects.

This is a full time, permanent position. The post is open to a job share.
