Salary
£29799 to £38833 per annum (pro-rata if offered a job share) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for this fixed term, maternity cover post based in the Department of Culture, Film and Media (CFM). CFM is one of the largest departments of its kind in the UK. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and combine teaching and research excellence in film and television studies, media and communication studies, cultural studies and critical theory.

The role holder’s responsibilities will involve, teaching and administration, contributing to the design, delivery and assessment of modules, supervision of undergraduate dissertations and offering of teaching support on modules as required. The role holder will also be allotted administration roles in accordance with the Department’s Academic Staff “Administration Grid”.

Applicants should have a PhD in Film and Television Studies with a focus on film and television industries, strategies of audience management and screen audience research. They should also have the ability to deliver modules to large (50+) and small groups, using lectures, seminars and tutorials, as appropriate. A proven track record in university teaching is also essential.

This post is available from 5th March 2018 on a fixed term contract basis to 4th December 2018.
