The EDITION study has been funded by the National Institute of Health Research to develop and evaluate a de-escalation techniques training package to reduce staff-patient conflict in mental health settings. This post-doctoral post will require advanced skills in systematic reviewing, qualitative methods and trials methodology. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and demonstrable experience of working, in either a clinical or research capacity, with secondary mental health care services populations.
You will lead data collection in the Barnsley and Wakefield sites. This will involve leading focus groups and interviews, conducting participant observation and recruiting patients and staff to complete follow-up assessments. You will need to travel regularly and work for extended periods within the study sites during data collection periods.
The post will start 1st March 2018 for 29 months (2.5 years) on a full-time basis.
