We seek a skilled and motivated lab manager who will support and contribute to the research in the Hearing Systems group at the Department of Electrical Engineering at DTU.

The job
You will be responsible for the maintenance of the research laboratories of the Hearing Systems group at DTU. The tasks require technical as well as innovative and communication skills to maintain and improve the level of the research facilities in collaboration with the researchers in the group. It provides the possibility to develop novel approaches and techniques to be used in the ongoing research topics, and it possible to actively contribute to research within the group.

Primary areas of responsibility 

  • Maintenance of existing research infrastructure
  • Development and implementation of new setups in hard- and software to meet requirements and demands of new research projects
  • Documentation of the facilities and procedures on the internal website
  • Regular calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Coordination with other support staff for IT/building related topics
  • Communication with suppliers and manufacturers regarding consumables and service
  • Training of new lab members in the use of the facilities
  • Support in teaching and outreach activities

Our expectations
We expect you to have a background in engineering, physics, or related technical field and to be able to work in a team together with technical staff and researchers. You should have experience in handling equipment used for auditory and audiological research. Experience in programming is required, preferably in MATLAB, PYTHON or C/C++. It is an advantage (but not required) to have experience in the conduction research projects or skills in electronics. Good communication skills (spoken/written) in English language are required.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The position is initially limited to 3 years.

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
