Key responsibilities and duties of the position are to support the research team in building and interrogating research and innovation datasets, drawing on data held by government agencies to address key research questions of value to policymakers and practitioners. Critical to this role will be the ability to more carefully characterise and structure these data, and overcome the challenges of linking multiple datasets from different sources together. The post holder will be expected to undertake both descriptive and statistical analyses of the datasets guided by the research leads. The post holder will also be expected to support the team in the qualitative phase of the research.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are: * Degree in Management, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science * Experience in building and analysing complex datasets focused on research, technology and innovation-related activities is essential * Experience in writing scripts in an appropriate language to develop, structure, link together, and interrogate complex databases is essential * Relevant knowledge of applied economics, technology and innovation policy, university-industry knowledge exchange would be desirable
The salary scale is: £25,728 – £30,688
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
