Take advantage of this  opportunity to learn BGA Discover from UC Berkeley’s renowned professors in a culturally diverse campus—without the complicated admissions process. Take courses based on your academic level and study with other UC Berkeley students for a semester or a full academic year.Outside of class, spend your free time exploring the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley, networking with your classmates and professors, participating in student groups, and immersing yourself in this vibrant, multicultural environment. Program Structure

Take courses alongside UC Berkeley students. Explore courses from a variety of subjects such as:

  • Arts and Humanities
  • Engineering
  • Languages
  • Mathematics and Sciences
  • Social Sciences

You’ll take courses both on and just outside of campus for a minimum of 12 units and a maximum of 18 units total of credit-bearing, in-person courses.

Academic Requirements

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Completion of the BGA Discover online application. Make sure that you meet specific prerequisites for any course you intend to take.
