The 2-year European Master in Animal Breeding and Genetics at Wageningen University and Research focuses on capacity building in animal breeding and genetics.The EMABG course is offered jointly by five European universities with strong, complementary teaching and research in animal breeding and genetics. Students benefit from mobility between universities by studying in two host universities which gives them an international experience and enhances their international network.
The EMABG starts with a three-week introduction course in August in Wageningen, the Netherlands. After this course, students spend their first year at their university of choice (typically September to June/July).
In August, after the first year of study, the Summer school Animal Breeding and Genetics is part of the EMABG program.
Students start their second year at another university of their choice.
In June, after the second year, the group of students finishes the program together with the celebration of the EMABG Graduation Ceremony at BOKU, our EMABG partner university in Vienna.

The EMABG MSc course is open for motivated students with a background in Animal Sciences, Biology or related fields, who like to specialise in the field of Animal Breeding and Genetics.
